“Tachada” Hybrid Rudiment

tachada, dachuda, tu-chada, tachuda, dachuta, tajada, drum rudiment

Also known as tachuda, dachuda, tu-chada, dachuta, and tajada, this hybrid rudiment consists of an accent followed by a flam followed by a tap with alternating sticking.

Here is a free play-along practice track that goes from slow to fast to slow. Play along with it, focusing on correct stickings, relaxed “soft” hands, even and consistent rhythms and flam width, and good tone regardless of accent or tap. Feel free to bookmark this page or download the MP3 file so you can practice with it over and over. There is also a YouTube link if you would like to play along with the stickings and tempo references on screen. Please consider subscribing to the YouTube channel if you find this helpful!
