Sale Price:$5.00 Original Price:$10.00

BLOOD STRIPE is a percussion feature that was debuted and performed daily by “The Commandant’s Own” at The State Fair of Texas in 2018.  It was also performed at the 2018 Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) as part of the Marching Heritage Concert.  In the Marine Corps, a solid red stripe worn on a Marine's blue trousers signifes that the Marine has achieved the rank of Corporal (E-4) or above, and is now considered to be a noncommissioned offcer (NCO). NCOs are commonly referred to as “The Backbone of the Marine Corps” and serve as the vital link between the command structure and junior Marines. Blood Stripes are worn to commemorate the NCOs that lost their lives while storming the castle of Chapultepec in 1847.

This piece is dedicated to all of the NCOs of the Marine Corps.
